🎉 Celebrations at Bonlee! 🎉

Our Dragons continue to shine! 🐉💚

• Teachers launched i-Ready math conferences this week, and they were outstanding! Students are setting precise goals and taking greater ownership of their progress.

• 💬 Second Step SEL Lessons: Middle grades kicked off their Second Step social-emotional learning lessons, focusing on self-awareness, empathy, and making responsible choices. It’s been great seeing students engaged in meaningful discussions.

• Our 2nd grade students took the lead in teaching kindergarten and 1st grade students about odd and even numbers! They even used Google Slides to design creative “exit tickets” that they handed out to their younger peers. What an amazing example of student leadership, collaboration, and technology in action!

• 🍎 Teacher Excellence: A huge shout-out to our amazing teachers for their teamwork, dedication, and the energy they bring into every lesson.

• 🚲 BMX LiveSchool Celebration – Friday, October 17 at 9:00 AM
  We’re celebrating our students’ positive choices and hard work with an exciting BMX show.

• 🎃 Fall Festival – Friday, October 17 from 6:00–8:00 PM
  Join us for an evening of family fun, food, games, and our annual pumpkin contest! A huge thank-you to our PTA and all the volunteers who are making this community event possible.

• 🧡 Unity Week – October 20–24
  During Unity Week, we’ll focus on kindness, inclusion, and standing together against bullying. Each day will include simple activities or themes to remind students that kindness and respect make our school stronger!

• 🎁 Salvation Army Angel Tree Applications
  The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program is now accepting applications through October 31, 2025. This program supports children ages 12 and under. Families can apply directly at saangeltree.org—no school referral is needed.

  🏆 CCS Power of One Award

  This award recognizes an individual who has had a powerful impact in shaping the direction of someone else's life. Each month, the district selects a recipient to be recognized at the Board of Education meeting. Nominations can come from community members, parents, staff, or students. Any staff member, both certified or classified, can be selected for the award. Nominate someone HERE!

Thrift Store Donations are being accepted every school days in the cart at the front of the school. Need ideas for Thrift Store donations? This week look though your kitchen and donate any items or small appliances that your not using. Let’s keep the cart full and encourage family and friends to shop Chatham PTA Thrift Shop - Siler City Store or the Pittsboro and Cole Park locations!
