A Note from the Principal

Dear Bonlee Families,

We’re quickly approaching the end of the first quarter, and what an incredible start it’s been! Our classrooms are filled with energy, focus, and growth. Teaching and learning are truly happening every day. Teachers are working hard to meet each student where they are, and our Dragons are showing determination, curiosity, and pride in their progress.

A huge thank you to our families for your continued partnership and support. It makes all the difference. Together, we’re building strong habits, strong minds, and a strong Bonlee community. I couldn’t be prouder of our students and staff for the amazing work happening across our school!

📚 Curriculum Corner
Our 3rd–5th grade classes are finding their rhythm with ALL Block rotations during ELA! It’s been wonderful to see students fully engaged in teacher-guided activities while showing independence and ownership during their small-group and independent work stations. Keep up the great work, Dragons!
📊 Data Talks & Growth Goals
BOY (Beginning-of-Year) data talks are complete for mClass and STAR assessments, and we’re ready to take the next step, launching focused intervention and enrichment groups. Our teachers are digging into the data to celebrate growth, identify areas of need, and plan intentional supports to help every student move forward.
⚽ Bonlee Makes History!
Bonlee now has its very first composite soccer team! We’re so proud of our student-athletes for representing our school with teamwork, determination, and Dragon pride. Check out the highlight video here

Thursday, November 6 will be Make-Up Picture Day and Fall Sports Photo Day!
The following teams will have their photos taken:

🚲 BMX LiveSchool Celebration! 🎉
We’re kicking off the first 9 weeks celebration with an action-packed BMX Live show.
📅 Friday, October 17, 2025, at 9:00 AM
As part of this celebration, teachers will also be reviewing LiveSchool points and demerits with students and families (recognizing positive choices, celebrating growth, and setting new goals for the next quarter).
🎃 Fall Festival Fun!
Join us for our Fall Festival on Friday, October 17 from 6:00–8:00 PM! Bring the whole family for games, treats, and community fun as we celebrate the season together.
🧡 Unity Week: October 20–24
We’ll be celebrating Unity Week with a focus on kindness, inclusion, and standing together as one school community. Look for themed days and classroom activities throughout the week!
🏆 CCS Power of One Award
This award recognizes an individual who has had a powerful impact in shaping the direction of someone else's life. Each month, the district selects a recipient to be recognized at the Board of Education meeting. Nominations can come from community members, parents, staff, or students. Any staff member, both certified or classified, can be selected for the award. Nominate someone HERE!

Thrift Store Donations are being accepted every school days in the cart at the front of the school. Need ideas for Thrift Store donations? This week look though your kitchen and donate any items or small appliances that your not using. Let’s keep the cart full and encourage family and friends to shop Chatham PTA Thrift Shop - Siler City Store or the Pittsboro and Cole Park locations!
