Warm greetings, Bonlee families!

I hope you all had a chance to rest and recharge. Even with the unexpected schedule changes this week, our students jumped right back into learning, and our staff continued to show incredible dedication. Thank you for helping keep routines steady at home. It truly makes a difference.

This season can feel busy, but it also gives us so many opportunities to notice the small moments of growth, kindness, and connection happening across our school each day. We are committed to finishing 2025 strong, one meaningful moment at a time.

🎉 Celebrations at Bonlee!

📚 Book Fair Success! Thanks to over $800 in donations and the generosity of our staff and community, many students were able to take home new books. Thank you Ms. Donnald.

🐝 Spelling Bee Winners Congratulations to our grade-level Spelling Bee champions who will compete in the School Bee on December 16:
John Paul Price, Landon Harvey, Ava Maness, Dexter Patin, Carson Gaines, Makayla Maness, Samuel “SJ” Moody, Kaileyann Phillips, and Aylin Santos Rangel. Thank you Mr. Barber.

🎄 Parade Pride Thank you to Mr. Clark, Ms. Ritter and her husband, and Ms. Collins for helping Bonlee shine in the Siler City Christmas Parade!

🎨 Student Recognition Ava Maness’s artwork will be recognized at the December BOE Meeting! 🎨 We are so proud of her accomplishment in the NC School Boards Association Art Contest.

🙌 Volunteer Appreciation A huge thank-you to our wonderful volunteers for helping our students grow in confidence, in skills, and in their love for learning. 

⭐ Staff Spotlight Kasey Maness will be recognized as the November Excellence & Opportunity Champion at the January 12th BOE meeting at 5:30 p.m.

🎩 Hat Day – Jr. Beta Club is hosting Hat Day on Thursday, December 12! Students may wear a hat for a $1.00 donation. All proceeds support student activities.

🎄 Student Holiday Cheer Days – Next Week!

Bonlee’s Student Council is hosting Student Holiday Cheer Days next week! Students are invited to join the fun:

Monday, Dec. 15: Pajama Day – Wear your favorite PJs

Tuesday, Dec. 16: Grinch Day – Wear green or Grinch-themed attire

Wednesday, Dec. 17: Holiday Sweater Day – Crazy, cute, or “ugly” sweaters welcome

Thursday, Dec. 18: Channel Your Flannel – Wear flannel from head to toe

Friday, Dec. 19 (1/2 day): Holiday Chaos – Over-accessorize with your favorite holiday gear!

Please note: Pajamas should only be worn on Pajama Day.

🚌 Attendance Matters
Please help your child arrive on time each day. Every instructional minute counts, especially as we move into key mid-year learning goals.

📚 Learning at Home
Encourage your child to read for at least 20 minutes each night and practice math facts or skills their teacher recommends. These small habits make a big difference!

🎁 PTA Thrift Shop Donations
Cleaning out closets? Drop donations in the bin at the front of the school. Every bag supports Bonlee and helps us earn hours!

🎁 Holiday Giving & “10 Days of Cheer”:
 As we enter the Christmas season, families are invited to check out the Bonlee Teachers/Staff Favorite Things list on the Bonlee PTA page  for gift-giving ideas.

Bonlee PTA and Administration will celebrate "10 Days of Cheer" for staff from December 8-19 and welcome students and families to join the festivities.  Donations  of any amount are appreciated to help provide food, drinks, and other tidings of comfort and joy.

🙌 Volunteer Work Nights:
Thank you to everyone supporting PTA work nights! Please remember to use the Sign Up so we are fully staffed, and everyone receives credit. Work nights continue through February 2026. Students may sign up using their school email.

🛒 Thrift Store Donations:
Donations are accepted daily in the cart at the front of the school. As you put away fall decorations, consider donating items in good condition and encourage friends and family to shop at any  Chatham PTA Thrift Shop - Siler City Store location.

👕 Spirit Wear:
We have three youth spirit wear items remaining (sizes Small, Large, and XL). Visit the Bonlee PTA Store!
