Lighting the way for our Dragons – Celebrations, news, and what’s coming next.

💫A Note from the Principal

Great evening, Bonlee families!

Thank you for your partnership and for prioritizing your child's attendance during our first round of end-of-year assessments! I am so proud of everyone's hard work and excited to see how much growth has occurred this year for all learners!

Throughout the school year, students have had opportunities to revise assignments, retake assessments, and continue working toward proficiency. At Bonlee, we want students to know that growth, effort, and perseverance matter. Continued learning and celebrating growth will remain a focus during these final days of the school year.

Just as we have done throughout the year in our classrooms, eligible students will have the opportunity to retest on their EOG assessments:
• Reading Retest – Thursday
• Math Retest – Friday
• Science Retest (eligible 5th- and 8th-grade students) – Monday

EOG score reports will be sent home with students on Monday, June 1, for students in grades 3, 4, 6, and 7, and on Wednesday, June 3, for students in grades 5 and 8 following the Science EOG. Please take time to review your child's score report and celebrate their hard work, growth, and accomplishments throughout the school year. Your support makes a tremendous difference. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher.

Thank you for your continued support of our Bonlee Dragons!🐉

Yearbooks

Yearbooks will be distributed on Friday, June 5. A limited number of extra yearbooks are available for purchase in the school office for $25 while supplies last.

Not sure if you ordered one? The office has a list of yearbook preorders and can help verify your purchase.

📚 Learning at Home Tip

Turn learning into a game! Challenge your child to be the "teacher" for 10 minutes and teach a family member something they learned at school this week. Whether it's a math strategy, a science fact, a vocabulary word, or a reading skill, teaching others is a fun way to reinforce learning and build confidence.

Why Retesting Matters

Retesting provides students with another opportunity to demonstrate what they know and show their growth. Just as we encourage students to revise assignments and learn from feedback throughout the year, retesting allows them to build on their learning and perform at their best. It is a "second bite at the apple," an opportunity for students to demonstrate their understanding with greater confidence and support.

In Chatham County, we believe in growth, perseverance, and providing students with meaningful opportunities to succeed.
